About the Author
"Thomas Kissell" has been a technical instructor and consultant in the field of industrial automation at Terra Community College in Fremont, Ohio for over twenty years. He has spent the majority of his career working directly with area industries, where he taught electricians and technicians directly on the factory floor. This training included installation, troubleshooting, and repair of major automation and motor control systems. The author has integrated this practical approach to troubleshooting and repair into this text, which includes the theory of operation of all traditional motor control components and circuits as well as state-of-the-art controls and control systems used with programmable controllers and robots.

Over the years Thomas Kissell has worked directly with the following companies: Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Texas Instruments, Union Carbide, Libbey Owens Ford, American National Can Company, TRW, Whirlpool Inc., General Mills, Campbell Soup Co., and Heinz USA. The author taught courses to technicians and engineers in these companies, and he was able to work side by side with some of the best electricians and electrical technicians in the world, troubleshooting their most complex problems. At these times, the author became their student, and they taught him the tricks and troubleshooting procedures that consistently located and repaired electrical problems. These procedures have been documented and are included in every chapter of this text.

Thomas Kissell has written numerous other books, including "Understanding and Using Programmable Controllers; Motors, Controls and Circuits for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems; ModernIndustrial/Electrical Motor Controls; Electricity Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems for Industrial Maintenance; Electricity, Electronics and Control Systems for ITVAC; Industrial Electronics," 2nd ed.; and a lab manual for industrial electronics.

This book is a great for augmenting the Faber line of piano books. I think I enjoy it as much as my students. I use it with my younger students who are towards the end of the Faber pink book, starting the blue book or beyond, and for adult students who have taken lessons for a few months.

The book is as stated and suits well for beginner piano students. The pieces are arranged for easy piano hand movements. The pieces are diverse and varied with different composers apart from the usual staple of Mozart,Beethoven,Bach . The book is really good and if I would have to raise an eyebrow, it would be for the optional 'Teacher Student duet' part that takes up half of the page, leaving just a couple of lines of actual music to play. This sort of makes the piece less tuneful as there are just a couple of notes to play. However apart from these diversions, the book is perfect for beginners or adult beginners new to the piano

This book is definitely easy. I would put it in a beginner kid category. My husband who has just started playing and can't read music well at all has found that most of these songs are pretty easy. But I guess that may be what some people are looking for. I wish that I would have gotten him a book maybe one step up.

This series of books is excellent. It takes you patiently but firmly through learning piano as an adult. I couldn't be more pleased.

Good beginning classical simplified piano. Could be used as enrichment music for beginning students of various ages.

Love the songs in the book and enjoyablabe to learn to play

I got this for a piano class and I have continued my use of it beyond that class because it is a nice, solid way to improve piano skills.

I was a bit disappointed in this product. I expected to learn more than was included on the disc. It is an interesting way to present a language so I have purched the follow on dic two and one in French. Don't expect to be able to have a conversation with anyone, but you should be able to order food at a cafe.

This is a cool and easy way to learn basic Spanish phrases. It has a sing songy method of teaching you Spanish that is fun.

What a great product! The Spanish one is slightly annoying, but only because of the way they try to relate the numbers, otherwise I found it very engaging and the beat does help the vocab and structure to stick. I am looking forward to having the second volume in my ears as I stroll down the streets en mi barrio!

I bought this a few years ago and this CD is something that's more catered to someone traveling to Spain...not very useful if you live somewhere with various Hispanic dialects like Texas, Florida, New York...you get the idea. The CD teaches basic European Spanish. That's about all I can say about it.

We played Ear Worms: Musical Brain Trainer on a road trip. It was educationable and enjoyable for both my wife and me. I speak Spanish. The lessons were well done. My wife studied Spanish years ago. The Musical Brain Trainer was a good review program for her. We are looking forward to V.2

I have studied Chinese language for a few years now and find Earworms Rapid Chinese to be a helpful way to study Chinese while taking a break from formal study. If you are like me and like to immerse yourself until you have a good handle on a subject or language. What I have found is often I will find myself not wanting to have to go through a drill or a chatty lesson while running or driving in my car. I will put in Rapid Chinese and find myself at ease, taking in the lessons and learning as I am relaxed and not particularly focused on the lesson, which is set to different rhythms and beats. It is thoughtfully put together and contains some challenge for a newbie, but not in a hard pressed manner. Instead it moves along smoothly and as you listen again and again you comprehend and participate with the 2 friendly and conversant teachers.

I love it! This program really helped me when I first began to learn Spanish. Perfect for those people that would like to learn some Spanish that they can use immediately when traveling.

The idea of using music to support learning is great, but this is an example of how not to do it. The music is really annoying. One bit seems to be mostly drumming. That may be a bit narrow, but this music is just trash.Also, the textbook puts the Pinyin Romanisation in tiny print, but an unecessary and woefully inaccurate "pronuciation" guide in large print. (E.g., it represents "x" and "sh" as the same sound.) Pinyin is an accurate guide. Nothing more is needed, and anyone who can't learn quickly is too dumb to learn anything.
